The face behind the camera,
Art has always been a huge part of my life from photography, painting, music to simple crafts. I started becoming interested in photography in high school. I took some courses, learned how to develop in a dark room (you know, when people actually printed photos!) and have always been known to have some type of camera in my hand. I have always much rather been behind the camera than in front of it. I love to chase sunsets though, I am usually busy chasing 3 crazy kiddos everywhere! We live a busy, chaotic life, which I thrive in and wouldn't change for the world. My husband (who is also my assistant on many shoots, making babies laugh and carrying heavy things) has the biggest heart in anyone I have ever met. He supports all of my crazy ideas, he is my ride or die. He is also pretty cute and sports an amazing beard! If he isn't watching the kids so I can go out on shoots, he is by my side assisting in any way possible! Once in a while one of my older girls will come along as an assistant too! They are great at playing with young kids and holding toys to keep babies attention. Fun facts about me :
- I love frogs
- I love camping and traveling
- I dislike scary movies
- I have 8 tattoos but freak out when having my blood drawn
- I love people, and I love them big

We had Sara DeHaan Photography capture our family photos this fall. Not an easy task with two kiddos, however, Sara worked well with them and was able to snap great shots. We received our photos quickly, and her website made it easy to pick our favorites, which was difficult because we liked them all!

My family had a wonderful experience with Sara! We decided on a whim that we wanted to do sunflower photos and she fit us into her schedule. The lighting was perfect and she did an amazing job of being mindful of our different skin tones when editing the photos. My children and sister felt very comfortable with her and she let me kind of do my own thing. She captured the true essence of our relationship as a family, and that is what every photographer should strive for.
